This Maybach Has a V12… and a Fridge in the Back

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class just premiered, and yeah, this is the kind of update you actually want to see. It doesn’t try to reinvent everything; it just makes an already special car even better. It's hard not to like that.
The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class just pulls up and quietly takes over the whole scene. The first thing you notice is the front. The grille lights up, the star glows, and even the outline is illuminated. Sounds like a lot, but it’s done clean. The Maybach badge sits there quietly, but you see it.

Then you start catching the details. The 21-inch forged wheels with that center cap that stays upright while you’re moving. The lit-up Maybach logos on the C-pillars. Small things, but done on purpose.
The Night Series is an option if you're looking for something a little more aggressive. It's the same car, but darker. More chrome, but moodier and more subdued. Although it sounds strange on paper, the rose gold inserts for the headlights are actually quite stylish. The taillights have that three-pointed star pattern around the back.

Under the hood, it’s still serious business. The S 680 is the one everyone talks about. V12, mild-hybrid setup, 611 hp and 850 Nm. Then we have the S 580 with a V8, pushing 537 hp and 750 Nm.
The next is the S 580 e, the plug-in hybrid option. 585 hp combined, plus over 100 km of electric range. That one actually makes a lot of sense if you spend time in the city. In some markets, there’s also a pure V12 version with 612 hp and 830 Nm, with no hybrid involved.

Step inside, and everything slows down. The cabin feels more like a private lounge than a car: soft leather everywhere, real wood, and hand-finished details. Nothing feels cheap.
Up front, everything runs through that big 14.4-inch screen, clean and easy to use. In the back, you’ve got two separate 13.1-inch screens, so everyone can do their own thing without sharing. And the Burmester 4D is more than just background music; you actually feel it in the seats.

The rear seats are still the highlight for most people. That’s where this car really stands out. The Executive seats recline properly and come with massage, heating, and ventilation. You just set it how you like and let it do its thing.
The Chauffeur package pushes the front seat forward so you get proper legroom. The center console turns into a mini setup with storage, smart compartments, and cup holders that keep drinks at the right temperature.

There’s even a fridge in the back. About 10 liters, so you can throw in a couple of bottles and they’ll stay properly cold the whole drive. And the champagne glasses? Silver-plated, clipped into place like they actually belong there, not something you’d forget at home.
The tech is the same story. The Comfort Doors open and close by themselves, and you can control them from inside, outside, or wherever.

For the picky, MANUFAKTUR lets you go all in. Different colors, special Nappa leather, wood trims, and custom finishes. You can spec it in shades like Beech Brown or build something completely your own.
This new 2026 Mercedes Maybach S-Class is built for a different kind of experience. You sit in the back, the doors close, and everything outside just fades away. Quiet, smooth, and completely effortless. That’s the whole point!
