Jeep Just Made the Avenger Feel More Grown-Up
by AutoExpert | 21 May, 2026
The Jeep Avenger always felt a little different from the usual wave of compact crossovers. Smaller than most people expect from a Jeep, a bit quirky in places, and surprisingly charming once you spend time with it.
Now Jeep is giving it a proper refresh for Europe, and the changes seem aimed less at reinventing the Avenger and more at making it feel like a more complete product.

The exterior tweaks are fairly restrained. There’s a redesigned grille inspired by the newer Compass, updated bumpers, fresh LED matrix headlights, and revised wheel designs with subtle nods to the classic Willys Jeep.

Two new colors, Forest and Bamboo, also join the palette, both clearly chosen to lean into the crossover’s outdoorsy image. Jeep says the updated Avenger also improves its off-road geometry slightly, though realistically most of these will spend more time dealing with potholes than mountain trails.

Inside, the cabin feels a bit more polished than before. Jeep added softer materials to the dashboard and door panels, while higher trims get upgraded upholstery that gives the Avenger a more grown-up feel. Jeep also added practical touches, including washable materials in the 4xe model and a 360-degree camera system.

The engine lineup covers pretty much every type of buyer. There’s a revised 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 99 hp, hybrid versions with a small integrated electric motor, a fully electric model offering up to 249 miles of WLTP range, and the more adventurous Avenger 4xe with all-wheel drive and 143 hp.

DC fast charging tops out at 100 kW, which feels perfectly fine for the kind of city-focused driving the Avenger is built for.
There’s also a new 85th Anniversary Edition with unique gold detailing and Tartan seats, giving the small crossover a bit more character than most rivals in this segment.
