Winnebago Reveals Electric RV Prototype With 110 Mile Range

Winnebago has shown us an early version of the first manufacturing RV it plans to sell. The eRV2 prototype was built on the chassis of a Ford e-Transit and then outfitted with various components to make it fully self-sufficient. Winnebago claims that the range of the chassis is around 108 miles.
However, they claim to be investigating methods to increase that range even further.
Meanwhile, it has collaborated with Lithionics Battery to develop its own IonBlade batteries for use within the cabin. These are compatible with a 48-volt setup and provide an impressive performance of over 15,000 watt-hours. Meanwhile, its design allows them to lie completely flat, making efficient use of the cabin space.
The eRV2 will have a solar array with a 900-watt capacity. Winnebago also states that the RV will have the ability to boondock. It's good for seven days of rough camping (i.e., no running water, no electricity). The camper's inside is also decked out in an assortment of eco-friendly repurposed components. Winnebago claims to be in the midst of testing the concept but has not provided a date for when customers may expect to see production models in dealerships.
