Chery’s New Lepas Aura Concept Looks Like An Audi RS5 With Three Doors
by AutoExpert | 25 October, 2026
Three doors, a low roof, and massive grille and taillights that double as a display. Chery’s new Lepas Aura concept looks nothing like the SUVs currently wearing the brand’s badge. Unveiled by Lepas, Chery’s export-focused brand launched in 2025, the concept previews a bolder design direction and gives us a glimpse of what could be coming next.
The Aura introduces Lepas’ “Leopard Aesthetics” design language, with a body that sits somewhere between a shooting brake and a low-slung hatchback.

The Lepas Aura concept has a short hood, a long wheelbase, and a roofline that slopes towards the rear. Two oversized doors stretch between muscular front and rear fenders, while five-hole alloy wheels feature ultra-thin orange spokes. It’s an unusual recipe, but the proportions give the concept plenty of attitude.
The front end is our favorite part. A huge, covered grille flows into the side intakes, creating a face that looks strikingly similar to the latest Audi RS5. The slim LED headlights also bring the new Audi A2 e-tron to mind. Lepas has already used a similar grille design on its L4 and L8 SUVs, suggesting this styling could become a signature feature across the range.

Around the back, the Aura gets a chunky diffuser and oval taillights stretching across the full width of the car. These aren’t conventional light units, either. They use a display that allows the graphics to be customized. The glasshouse is just as unusual, appearing almost like one continuous sheet of glass, without clearly visible pillars.
Lepas hasn’t revealed the Aura’s powertrain or confirmed whether it will reach production. Instead, the company says the concept’s proportions, surfaces, lighting, and colors will influence future models. The current lineup includes the L4, L6, and L8 SUVs, with gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains available across the range.
