This Lifted Renault 5 Is Ready For The Trails, If Fans Want It
by AutoExpert | 9 July, 2025
The Renault 5 is already one of the most charming little EVs out there, thanks to its retro-inspired design. But German tuning company delta4×4 had a completely different idea: what if the R5 wasn’t just for the city? What if it could go off the beaten path?
So, they turned the electric hatchback into a rugged, rally-style off-roader—at least in concept form. Think chunky all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, a lifted suspension that raises it nearly 4 inches, and a full Dakar-style roof rack packed with lights, snow tracks, and even a spare tire.

The look is finished with a colorful, motorsport-inspired livery and vintage leather straps on the hood and tailgate for that old-school rally vibe.
Despite the tough looks, this R5 still runs on front-wheel drive. Its most powerful variant makes 148 horsepower, with the performance-oriented Alpine A290 pushing that up to 217.

In regular form, the R5 gets a 52 kWh battery and a 249-mile range, though all the extra gear and knobby tires would surely eat into that.
Right now, this build is just a digital render, but delta4×4 says they’re open to making it real if there’s enough interest. So if you’ve ever dreamed of turning your cute little Renault 5 into a trail-ready EV, they might just make that happen.
