This Jaguar XJR-19 Le Mans Racer is a concept car suitable for 2020, created in order to celebrate the historical victories of Jaguar, especially the Le Mans 24 hours' one when it managed to win it 30 years ago.
You will notice strong influences coming from XJR-9 and XJR-12 models blended in the fluid shape of XJR-19.
The entire body of the Racer is focused on providing the best aerodynamics possible, with special shapes to help airflow and engine cooling. The design is minimalist and projected in such a manner, that replacing the deteriorated panels wouldn't be too difficult.
The concept car is enriched with some futurist and innovative technologies and materials. The chassis features structural batteries, while the body itself has produced of carbon nanotube-reinforced polymer, combined with other innovative materials that ensure higher strength and resistance than carbon fiber or Kevlar.
XJR-19 is powered by a hybrid system, comprising a diesel V8, super-charged, with a total capacity of 2.7 liters, working along with an electric engine installed in the gearbox. The drive train works on KERS technology, involving renewable braking energy and magnetic amortization.
