The Speedtop Is BMW’s Sexiest Concept In Years
by AutoExpert | 26 May, 2025
BMW has a tradition of showing off something stunning every year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and for 2025, they’ve done it again. Meet the BMW Concept Speedtop, basically the Skytop’s cooler, more practical sibling, now with extra style and luggage space.
Like the Skytop, the BMW Speedtop rides on the same platform and rocks that signature shark-nose front end. The sleek V-shaped nose, slim lighting, and illuminated kidney grille are all here, but what sets the Speedtop apart is how it’s evolved into something even more refined.

The paint alone is worth talking about. It shifts from a deep Floating Sunstone Maroon at the front to a lighter Floating Sundown Silver toward the rear, with a sculpted “spline” line running down the center of the hood, roof, and into the rear spoiler. It’s subtle but super effective. Filling out the arches are bespoke 14-spoke two-tone wheels, created just for this show car.

Inside, it’s every bit as dramatic. The two-tone leather interior blends Sundown Maroon with Moonstone White, and that same spline theme returns as a light beam projected across the headliner. Even the trunk gets the luxury treatment, with matching leather and lighting, plus custom Schedoni bags that slot neatly into the split-luggage compartments.

BMW is staying tight-lipped about performance, but they say the Speedtop is powered by their most powerful V8. That almost certainly means the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 617 hp, same as in the Skytop.

The BMW Speedtop isn’t just a pretty showpiece. BMW will actually build 70 units of the Concept Speedtop for select buyers. Sadly, it won’t be coming to the US, and no, there’s no price tag yet, but let’s just say it’s going to be one of those “if you have to ask...” kind of deals.

As BMW’s Bernd Körber put it, last year’s Skytop made a splash. This year, the Speedtop is making waves.
