New Lexus ES Gets 21-Inch Wheels And LED Styling From Modellista

The new Lexus ES is clearly trying to play it cool. It’s cleaner, calmer, and more “executive parking lot” than ever. But that also means it fades into the background a bit. Not exactly the kind of car that makes you look back after you park it.
That’s where Modellista comes in. At the Tokyo Auto Salon, Lexus’s in-house tuner showed off a styling package meant to give the ES a little extra attitude. Think light seasoning, not hot sauce.

Up front, there’s a painted splitter and chunkier side skirts that make the car look lower and slightly more athletic. The fun twist is the LED strip tucked into the skirts, which can light up in different colors — because why not add a little nightlife energy to a luxury sedan? Satin black mirror caps round things out without screaming for attention.

The biggest glow-up happens on the wheels. The new 21-inch forged alloys instantly make the ES look more confident, like it finally started hitting the gym. Around the back, there’s a revised lower bumper section that cleans things up, even if it won’t scare any German sport sedans.

Still, none of this fully solves the bigger question: where’s the fun version? The old ES had an F Sport trim that at least pretended to be edgy. Lexus hasn’t confirmed one for the new model yet, but if they want people to stop calling the ES “safe,” it might be time to bring that badge back.

For now, this Modellista setup is just a concept. Prices are unknown, and there’s no guarantee these parts will ever leave Japan.
