New Design Concept For The Nissan Xterra Has Appeared Online

The Xterra was discontinued by Nissan in 2015. Since then, Nissan Xterra admirers have longed for a successor. A new Xterra has been developed by digital designer Enoch Gabriel Gonzales, who's had enough of waiting.

Gonzales says that the original Nissan Pathfinder and Terrano were big influences on the new design. The Terrano was the Xterra's predecessor, although it was never sold in the United States. On top of that, the new Xterra has a two-level roofline and a square shape, which are all recognized design cues.

According to Gonzales, it should be based on Nissan's Frontier pick-up truck. He wants to keep it simple with a ladder-frame architecture, 4WD, and a naturally aspirated V6 engine. That's not all; it has a retro vibe that's sure to draw clients. Moreover, the vehicle is ideal for off-road use. 

Nissan Xterra is still available in other countries, although it's not a direct competitor to the Bronco in terms of performance. It comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive.
