NEVS Had Plans To Release A Convertible GTO Version Of The Emily EV

The company's chief exterior designer recently unveiled a collection of brand-new images of the Emily GT, a car model that National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) never produced. Among the renderings is a depiction of the Emily GT as a convertible, named the Emily GTO.

The following images were recently posted on LinkedIn by Hirash Razaghi, a seasoned designer who has lent his expertise to a number of high-profile automotive brands, including Volvo Trucks, Hyundai, Lotus, Infiniti, and Bugatti.

The Emily GT EV sedan and convertible models differ in their number of doors, with the latter featuring a sleek two-door design. However, both models share slim taillights and an LED light bar. As depicted in the rendering, the vehicle boasts a distinct set of wheels that seamlessly blend silver and black parts. Additionally, it features a sleek, low-slung windshield that adds to its overall aesthetic appeal.

NEVS, owned by Chinese property developer Evergrande, had plans to equip the Emily GT with a whopping 175 kWh battery pack, which would have allowed for an impressive driving range of more than 621 miles on just one charge. The vehicle boasts a remarkable 484 hp in standard form, thanks to its four 121 hp electric motors, one for each wheel. An even more robust version boasting 644 horsepower and 1,623 pound-feet of torque was also in the works.

But sadly, it has been reported that NEVS has been put into hibernation mode and that a significant portion of its workforce has been laid off.
