NAWA 'Racer' Electric Motorcycle Can Travel 186 Miles On A Single Charge

The "Racer" is a new zero-emission motorcycle concept by NAWA Technologies. It claims that its technology, which employs a conventional battery and nano-based ultracapacitor tech, doubles the distance that a motorcycle of this size might achieve.

The powerplant blends lithium-ion batteries with next-generation nano-based ultracapacitors, which can store 10-100 times extra energy per unit of volume and receive and deliver charges considerably faster than a battery.

NAWA

NAWA believes that by integrating the two energy sources, it is able to optimize both, while also providing new potential for electric cars. The size of the hefty lithium-ion battery pack can be lowered with the use of supercapacitors, as can charging time. Developers claim it can enable a higher vehicle's range while also extending the system's total longevity.

NAWA

Envisage Group in the United Kingdom, and many others assisted the company in developing a fully working concept version of the NAWA Racer. The cafe racer-inspired bike, which is powered by an in-wheel motor, is said to be able to travel 300 km (186 miles) per charge in urban conditions. The body panels and rear arm are made of composite material, which helps to reduce weight.

NAWA

In spite of being designed for a motorbike, NAWA claims that this powertrain can be scaled up and used in any type of EV. From November 25 to 28, the NAWA Racer will be on exhibit in Milan at EICMA 2021, the world's largest motorcycle event.
