Mercedes Biome Concept – the alien fireball!

For the first time, this concept has been presented at the Los Angeles Auto Showroom in 2010, during a design contest dedicated to all the official design studios belonging to the most important auto manufacturers, where it managed to impress everybody!

The supercar in the images is a creation of the Mercedes design studio in California, signed by Hubert Lee. The same who has handled the CLS and the F 800 Style.

Biome can easily pass as a UFO on four wheels, having a special look and a fluid style. The designers are proud not only of the exterior but also of the fact that the total weight of the car reaches as little as 394 kg, the car body is made of bio-fibers, obtained out of lab-raised plants, with naturally biologic methods.

Mercedes Biome is compact, with a 4 m length, but the 250 cm width makes it clearly stand out in the crowd and has left the designers some room for interesting ideas, first of all, related to aerodynamics.

The interior is not to be ignored, as well, bringing 4 seats with an original positioning: the driver in the central position, two back seats, and one last seat also in the center, back in the cabin.

Even if it has been designed 5 years ago, the concept remains an example for lots of auto designers and producers, withal.
