Toyota is going on full speed to be in trendy demand of the Electric Vehicles and currently takes the first serious steps with the bZ4X concept. This is just one of the many hybrids to come from the Japanese manufacturer.

This concept is a perfect glimpse at the RAV4 EV. As you can see, not many changes were made, except a much angular front end with slender headlights and more prominent air curtains. Also, important changes were made to the bZ4X aerodynamics, a fully enclosed grille, and a wide intake with metallic trim.

The rear back brings a visible long hood and pronounced wheel arches. Other interesting and modern features are a windscreen, a gently sloping roof, and a distinctive shoulder line. There's also the angled rear window, a prominent C-pillar, and striking taillights that wrap around the sides of the vehicle.

The bZ4X's exterior has a more traditional cabin with a chunky three-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster with a bowl-like surround. “The low position of the instrument panel and the location of the meters above the steering wheel not only help expand the vehicle’s sense of space but also help increase visibility to aid in safe and secure driving.”

The floating center console and a freestanding infotainment system with a widescreen display are all joined by a gloss black trim, minimalist controls, and a rotary shifter. The second row of seats also has an upholstered dashboard and a roomy second row.

Toyota also revealed information toward the e-TNGA platform that has been jointly developed with Subaru. This one is a powerful joint and a smart move for both companies in the attempt to combine the one's legendary quality, durability, and long-term reliability with the second's all-wheel-drive capabilities to deliver to their customers “a driving experience that is both comfortable and engaging.”

With set to be available globally starting the middle of next year, the production will be built in China and Japan. This bZ4X concept will be offered in just 15 units, ten of them getting the bZ (Beyond Zero) name. Now we can be sure of a confirmed electric truck lineup in the next years built on hybrid and BEV powertrains.
