When the Japanese automaker introduced its first based-on electric vehicle platform, the EV6 Series seemed the most appropriate to embody "the new Kia. The first striking technical specifications are the acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km) in just 3.5 seconds and an 800V charging capability.

The exterior gives a clear glimpse of how the company's new "Opposites United" design philosophy that evokes "positive and natural energy, contrasting combinations of sharp stylistic elements and sculptural shapes." A slender grille is flanked by distinctive headlights with sequential elements with an aerodynamic bumper with rectangular intake along with small vertical slats at the outside edges.

At the front, you'll see that it exploits a short hood and a streamlined bodywork while the blacked-out A-pillars show an expanded greenhouse and an upward sweeping line on the car's length. The roof appears to be 'floating' with its paper rear spoiler wrapped around the vehicle's sides and the air channeled to the lower spoiler as a flowing taillight.

A minimalist interior features a dashboard topped by a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch infotainment system with a curved display with Kia Connect technology allowing over-the-air updates and real-time services. These services would offer information to owners about nearby charging stations, charging status monitoring, and current range numbers. Also, you get complex and advanced driving assistance features.

Offering a two-spoke steering wheel, futuristic switchgear, 14-speaker Meridian audio system with "Active Sound Design", an artificial noise generator that adjusts to the vehicle speed. also, it features relaxation seats covered with recycled plastics fabric and an18.4 cubic feet (520 liters)  expandable up to 45.9 cubic feet (1300 liters). There are additional 1.8 cubic feet (52 liters) given by the frunk for the European variants, which differs for the American customers and is only limited to 0.7 cubic feet (20 liters).

This EV6 is powered by a 58 kWh standard range battery on a rear-mounted motor delivering 168 horsepower and 350 Newton-meters of torque in RWD system and second electric motor for a combined delivery output of 232 horsepower and 605 Newton-meter on the AWD system variant. You can also upgrade the battery if you like to perform a combined 577 hp and 740 Nm to reach the 0-62 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds.

As you can see, the new Kia EV6 is an elegant fast little beast on the E-GMP platform and is expected in dealerships in 2022.
