In 2028, Hyundai Aims To Build A Flying Vehicle

In the most literal sense, Hyundai is conquering new boundaries. The Asian automaker plans to introduce a passenger-carrying flying electric vehicle in 2028. It will be based on the S-A1 concept that was introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show last year.

South Koreans intend to build a ride-hailing service around the new car two years after it is released. According to reports, the new vehicle would only take off and land vertically.

Hyundai recently reorganized its urban air mobility branch into a new company named Supernal. It appears that it will be in charge of project coordination. The flying vehicle has a range of 100 km and can fly at altitudes ranging from 300 to 600 meters.

It will transport four people as well as the pilot. It also takes around 5-7 minutes to completely charge the battery.
Hyundai intends to create a "vertiport" prototype - a platform for landing and taking off - as early as next year.
