Hyundai has a history of creating eye-catching concepts, and this one is no exception. The Heritage Series Grandeur is a classic design with a revolutionary electric edge, created to commemorate the 35th anniversary of their luxury vehicle.
"Retrofuturism" is a term used to describe the combination of classic aesthetics and cutting-edge technology in this concept car based on a first-generation Grandeur.
The concept includes a parametric grille surrounded by LED headlights with a pixel-centric appearance on the outside. With the addition of new mirrors, wheels, and colorful cladding, and pixel taillights, the car has been given a whole new look.
Hyundai's interior design team has entirely reworked the vehicle's inside, making the exterior look boring in comparison. Only a few throwback features like the single-spoke steering wheel, mechanical shifter, and velvet interior survive.
The cabin, on the other hand, is unique for its technology, since the concept features a digital instrument cluster that connects to a widescreen multimedia system. Also, there is a weird digital piano capability on a secondary lower panel.
It's not all about the technology, but there are a few intriguing features, like the armrest at the front. A watch or other goods can be concealed in the secret storage compartment.
The Heritage Series Grandeur concept was built in 8 months, using an electric drive system comprising of a battery and an engine, rather than an internal combustion engine, according to Hyundai. There's no news on specs, sadly.
