Hyundai Crater Concept Previewed Before Los Angeles Auto Show Reveal
by AutoExpert | 18 November, 2025
Hyundai has something new cooking, and it’s called the Crater. It’s an off-road concept that will make its first appearance this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Hyundai says the whole point is to explore a tougher, more adventurous side of the brand.
Put simply, this might be the point where Hyundai stops just looking rugged and actually builds something ready to play in the dirt.

Even in the teaser shots, the Hyundai Crater looks pretty bold. The fenders are huge, the lights have a cool futuristic feel, and the whole thing has a confident stance. The smooth front end and closed-off grille make it seem like an electric setup could be involved, although Hyundai hasn’t said anything official about what’s powering it.

If it ever turns into a real SUV, a gas or hybrid engine still seems the most likely option. That would put Hyundai right in the same playground as Ford and Jeep. We’ll find out soon enough when it’s fully revealed in Los Angeles. With a name like Crater, you get the sense Hyundai wants this thing to make an entrance.
