Honda Prelude Is Reimagined As A Hybrid Classic For Modern Times

The production version of last year's attractive Prelude Concept will be available for purchase in Europe, according to Honda. Honda released images of a red coupe (the initial concept was white) and the original 1979–1982 Prelude.
Recent Japanese publications anticipate that it will share a chassis with the e-HEV powerplant from the Civic and US-market Accord hybrids when it debuts in 2025.
Two electric motors work in tandem with a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine to propel those models. According to previous reports, the carmaker said that the Prelude will not be the sportiest and zippiest car.
To Honda head engineer Tomoyuki Yamagami, "The new Prelude not only marks the latest chapter in our ever-evolving hybrid story, but it is also the product of 25 years of pioneering hybrid research and development." Yamagami made reference to the 1999 release of the first Honda Insight hybrid.
Furthermore, “the Prelude demonstrates the continued importance of hybrid powertrains as part of Honda’s automobile electrification strategy—a key step towards our commitment for 100 percent of new vehicle sales to be battery electric or hydrogen fuel cells by 2040,” Yamagami remarked.
