Forget the V10: The New Lexus LFA Concept Goes Fully Electric
by AutoExpert | 5 December, 2025
Say hello to the new Lexus LFA Concept! Yup, the name returns. And no, this has nothing to do with the V10 icon, which is still echoing in our collective memories. This one’s electric. All electric. If the original LFA was full-blown opera, this one is noise-canceling headphones.
Lexus showed the concept in Japan after teasing it months ago as the “Lexus Sport Concept.” That earlier design study has now grown into something that looks far closer to a real car, just without an engine that shakes your ribcage.

Lexus says the LFA badge was never tied to combustion anyway. Instead, the name is supposed to represent a car that carries the brand’s biggest ideas forward. Sounds poetic, but also a little like they’re trying to soften the blow of “no V10 this time, sorry.”
Toyota has been pretty open about its own halo car, the GR GT. Lexus, on the other hand, is keeping its cards close. No horsepower figures. No battery specs. Nothing about range. Just “trust us.” So for now, we’re all guessing.

But here’s something we do know: no EV is going to recreate the scream of the original LFA’s V10. Or even the new Toyota V8. Some things can’t be digitized.
What makes this weirder is that the LFA Concept rides on the same aluminum platform used for the Toyota GR GT and GT3. Lexus could have taken the V8 route - the hardware is literally right there - but chose the silent option instead. Bold? Maybe. Risky? Definitely.

Styling-wise, it's gorgeous. Lexus is always a dreamer when it comes to interiors, and this one looks like it was yanked from a $100 million sci-fi flick.
Where is all this going? Lexus has already said that the concept will go to production. And the simple fact that they changed the name from "Sport Concept" to "LFA Concept" pretty much gives it all away in terms of what badge it'll wear when it does hit the road.

So yes — a second-generation LFA is coming.
Just… not the kind anyone expected.
