Ferrari Conciso – The Story Behind Italians’ Most Unusual Concept

Ferrari 328 GTS is one of the most favorite models ever, courtesy to all of its amazing qualities and the fact that its engine can be easily repaired, without taking it off the chassis. German designer Bernd Michalak saw in 328 GTS the perfect platform for building its fantasy car – Ferrari Conciso. And here’s what the result looks like…

The concept car is based on the rare Barchetta chassis, with no ceiling and, sometimes, even no doors. So, you’re not entering the car, you’re literally jumping in it.

The designer describes the concept as being purely athletic, with its chassis made exclusively out of aluminum, with plastic wings and quite a minimalist interior. All these materials contribute to the light weight of under 890 kg, which is 362 kg less than a regular 328 GTS.

Ferrari Conciso runs on a 3.2-liter V8 engine, delivering through a five-speed manual transmission 274 hp and 304 Nm of torque. That means that reaching the first 100 km/h needs 5 seconds, again – 1.4 seconds faster than a regular 328 GTS. The top speed is set at 278 km/h.

This unusual concept was premiered at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1993, following the Geneva show. The concept car has been awarded at Eurosign Design Awards. Later on, the only Ferrari Conciso in the world was sold to a collector in 1998 and then, sold by RM Sotheby’s in Monaco for EUR 109.250.
