Enthusiasts Wish This Ford Ranchero Was Real

More than 50 years have passed since the Ford Ranchero first appeared on the market. Between 1957 and 1979, Ford rolled out the Ranchero pickup, labeled officially as a "coupe utility" or "ute" in Australia.

Lasting through seven generations, the Ranchero left the scene, but its nameplate stuck around in South America until the early '90s.

Although the odds of Ford resurrecting the Ranchero seem slim, designer Oscar Vargas envisioned a modern version. He based it on the latest Ford Mustang (S750). Drawing inspiration from his Dodge Charger-turned-pickup by Smyth Performance, he kept the Mustang's front intact but added flared wheel arches and a bold hood power dome.

The designer also transformed the Mustang's cabin into a spacious bed. To enhance the look, he included a sizable rear wing and flared wheel arches at the back, giving this Mustang Ranchero a really distinctive touch. And how about you? Do you like it or not?
