El Camino EV Concept Unveiled By GM And Lingenfelter, With eCrate Motor Coming Next Year

In addition to new cars, GM has already invested in Pure Watercraft and dipped its toes into the electromod sector. The manufacturer is now disclosing additional information, announcing that the Electric Connect and Cruise eCrate Package will be available next year to expand EV technology.

GM didn't offer many details, but it did mention plans for an electric specialized car modification program that will connect buyers with licensed installers. Lingenfelter has also been collaborating with the firm on an electrified 1972 Chevrolet El Camino SS. As the program prepares to launch in 2022, GM claimed the car is the first independent deployment of the concept eCrate kit.

The El Camino was finished this summer and put on hundreds of road test miles before its premiere at PRI, according to Lingenfelter. The automobile was built for validation reasons, according to the tuning business, and will aid in the development of the electric specialist vehicle modification program.

The El Camino's performance specs are unknown, but a presentation at PRI revealed that it had a 66 kWh battery pack and an electric engine coupled to a four-speed automatic gearbox. It transmits power to the back wheels, and the firm claims that the immediate torque makes driving exciting.
