Buick Blackhawk Concept - a trip in the past's future!

This car concept has been created in order to highlight all of the experience and fame gained by the Buick brand over its many years of existence. The design is personalized, of course, so that the car could participate in Showrooms and exhibitions.

According to Michael E. Doble, a manager at Buick, this car is truly different and there are a lot of features in it making it so special.

The car is convertible, with 4 seats. The shape of its body is pretty retro, echoing the 30s or 40s of the past century. The front side of the Buick Blackhawk reminds of a '39 Buick, due to its similar grille.

The color of this concept can be called truly juicy, of black cherries. The doors have no handles and the lights are hidden in the body of the car concept.

If you are a genuine car fan, than you know that it is Doble that has created the Buick concept cars for the past 15 years. They were all meant to be shown at specialized showrooms and exhibitions. Nevertheless, this car concept has a whole new meaning - it is supposed to fill the Buick lovers' needs and fantasies about this Brand. It is a tribute to all of the Buick experience and fame. It is personalized especially for the audience, with design elements springing out of all the years of existence.

This concept can be perceived as a transition towards the anniversary Buick, released in 2003. It is the continuation of the constant promotion of the fact that the Buick cars mean comfort, security, and beauty.

Some of these examples comprise the 1999 Cielo, the 2000 LaCrosse concept, or Rendezvous. The Blackhawk comes with a more aggressive approach, showing off its entire power and style. You can drive it from one show to another show.

It reaches 60 miles/h in less than 5 seconds, with an epochal 1970, 455 cubic inches Buick GS V8 engine. The gearbox is automatic, in 4 phases, electronically controlled. The engine can produce up to 463 hp.

Doble has selected the Blackhawk concept out of a series of creative concepts selected from five design companies. The winner was Steven D. Pasteiner, an ex Buick designer. He is actually the author of some remarkable concepts like Signia, Park Avenue Esenta, XP2000, Sceptre, and Chester.
