An Electric Roadster With More than 1,000-HP Is Jaguar's Newest Gran Turismo Concept

Gran Turismo has become more than a video game; carmakers generate unique designs for the sport. Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Roadster is the newest addition to the Vision Gran Turismo family, which includes the 2019 Vision Gran Turismo Coupe and 2020 Vision Gran Turismo SV.
The Vision Gran Turismo Roadster, which is available in Gran Turismo 7, is a single-seat electric race car inspired by previous Gran Turismo vehicles as well as the classic D-Type. However, the roundel lights in the grille, and also hand-crafted leather straps on the front fenders, distinguish the Roadster.
They're connected by a fin that's "aerodynamically-optimized using the latest computational fluid dynamics tools to be deployable at speed for enhanced stability with minimal drag," according to the company.
The electric racer is equipped with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 1,006 hp (750 kW / 1,020 PS) and a torque of 885 lb-ft (1,200 Nm). The Roadster can sprint from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in less than 2 seconds, with a max speed of more than 200 mph (322 km/h).
Jaguar later explained that the vehicle has a cutting-edge lithium-ion battery and a weight distribution that is nearly 50:50. This contributes to the digital racer's amazing ride, speed, and responsiveness. "As a car designer, being part of the team that has delivered three virtual cars for the Gran Turismo series has been a dream project," says exterior designer Oliver Cattell-Ford.
