Alfa Romeo Periscopica Designed by Narayan To Mark The Company's 111th Anniversary

While the Alfa Romeo Periscopica will never see the light of day, it is one of the most gorgeous independent design studies we've seen.

The car was constructed to mark Alfa Romeo's 111th anniversary and was designed by CarScoops reader Aditya Narayan. This is an Aditya Narayan design study that is neither affiliated with nor supported by Alfa Romeo. It refers to a number of Alfa Romeo race vehicles from the 1960s, including the Tipo 33 Periscopica from 1967.

The idea is shaped like a low-slung racer, with round headlights and a compact front grille that quickly draw attention to the front end. Under the wide wheel arches, the big BBS wheels fit perfectly. Periscopica lacks a fixed roof and big air intake behind the doors when seen from the sides. Also noticeable is a roof scoop.

With a low decklid and engine cover, spherical LED taillights, and dual tailpipes, Narayan's style is possibly even more stunning from the back.

The Periscopica's interior is just as fascinating as its outside. A circular instrument cluster and a flat-bottomed and flat-top three-spoke steering wheel are located immediately in front of the driver. The car then has a set of five circular displays where an infotainment panel would normally be. Narayan has also created his ideal Alfa Romeo with a stick shift to increase driver participation.

Narayan is currently employed at Ford as a design manager, and he was involved in the development of the 2016 Ford Mustang and the Mustang Mach-E.
