2023 BMW X8 M Spy Pics: Premium SUV Is In The Works

BMW has been spotted testing its upcoming X8 SUV several times in recent months, notably in M-badged versions. Instagrammer @magnus.concepts has developed some pretty intriguing representations of the SUV by digitally peeling away some of the camouflage from recent spy pictures.

These images show the SUV with a split headlamp design that has been shown on earlier concepts and will be seen on the new 7-Series as well. 2023 X8 M will have huge black kidney grilles, just like other modern BMW vehicles, and a front fascia with wide intakes and a muscular bumper. An especially striking hood with strong folds and edges also grabs attention.

These are @magnus.concepts' own illustrations based on recent spy images, and they are not affiliated with or sponsored by BMW.  It's unclear whether the vehicle will be known as the BMW X8 M or simply as the XM, but whatever the scenario may be, it's turning out to differ significantly from all previous BMW models. The mega SUV also gets flared front and back wheel arches, as well as classic BMW M wing mirrors.

2023 BMW X8 M's rear-end look is just as striking as its front. A pair of taillights unlike any other from BMW are included, along with eye-catching LED patterns. The SUV has been portrayed with quad taillights that are piled on top of each other, similar to recent concepts, creating an intriguing aspect.

Beyond the look of 2023 X8 M, some sources report that it will be the automaker's most ferocious production vehicle, with a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric engine to produce up to 750 hp.
