Will Volvo Concept Coupe be the best Volvo from the P1800 from the ‘60s and ’70s of the past century?

The creators of this Volvo Concept Coupe have taken that into consideration and took a lot of inspiration from that model.

The Volvo concept respectfully preserves the German air and the retro lines. However, the design itself doesn't look old at all, bearing an aggressive and confident attitude.

The precedent Volvo platforms have been abolished in favor of the new SPA platform, allowing the designers the possibility of fantasying without any limits.

Volvo's representatives state that this concept car represents the basics of the new architecture, including the proportions, the position, and the design lines. It shows how nowadays cars can be transformed into futurist vehicles.

The main source of inspiration for this concept, P1800, is an iconic product of the brand, and the fact that the present concept took some of its main features and transposed them into the present represents a tribute to the entire brand's history.

Elegance is preserved in the interior of the concept car, just like it is present on the outside. The details are classical and, at the same time, modern. The details are breathtaking; just take a look at the leather-covered board, the metallic little details, the blue rugs, and the wooden inlays.

Volvo is pretty serious about producing completely autonomic cars until 2020. This intention can be understood from the plug-in the hybrid drive train, working on fuel, as well. The four electric engines can be equivalent to a traditional V8 when working together. There is also a Drive-E fuel engine, with a capacity of two liters, which is helped by a turbocharger and a compressor. The car can produce 400 hp at a total torque of 600 Nm.
