With Minor Updates, Peugeot 108 Extends Its Sales In The United Kingdom

Peugeot has confirmed that, as it nears the end of its lifetime, it will continue to sell the 108 city auto in the United Kingdom with a series of minor upgrades for 2021, sold exclusively in a five-door body style.

Peugeot 108 debuted in 2014 as an improved version of the 2005 Peugeot 107, as well as a sister vehicle to the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo. PSA Group is expected to stop producing ICE-powered A-segment vehicles in 2020, with a potential pure electric substitute in the form of a crossover based on the Fiat 500 chassis in 2021. Toyota, on the other hand, took a detour with their ICE-powered next-generation Aygo, which was anticipated by the X Prologue Concept.

Returning to the classic 108, the model is now available in two new paint colors: Ural White and Galaxite Gray, which replace the earlier Bianca White and Carbon Grey. Active, Allure, and Collection are the three trim levels offered, with the latter highlighted by 15-inch Thorren alloy wheels with orange center caps and body-colored door handles.

Inside, the top-of-the-line collection features new Orange Maya Line Jusa trimmings with yellow stitching, as well as a unique interior atmosphere based on the trim chosen.

The 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine produces 67 hp (50 kW / 68 PS) regardless of the version, as the more powered naturally aspirated 1.2-liter unit has been withdrawn. There is no automatic transmission available, thus power is supplied to the front wheels only through a five-speed manual transmission. Peugeot 108 2022 is already on sale in the United Kingdom, with pricing starting at £13,320.
