Two and a half years after its original introduction at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg confirmed the beginning of production of Jesko by displaying a fresh new preproduction concept.

The new Jesko and Jesko Absolut will be produced in Ängelholm, Sweden, in a total of 125 units. The first client deliveries, according to Koenigsegg, will begin in April 2022.

The exterior features Tang Orange Pearl paint, which is symbolic of the CCR, as well as silver and carbon-fiber details. Inside, there are carbon-fiber details all over the place, as well as contrasting orange detailing. The SmartCluster and SmartCenter screens are part of the digital cockpit, and the steering wheel has incorporated touch buttons.

“We are extremely excited to present this pre-series Jesko in connection with the commencement of production of the 125 Jesko and Jesko Absolut customer cars,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO, and Founder. The pre-assembly of the Jesko begins in a 10,000-square-meter facility as part of our gradual expansion.”

“For a car of its size and power, it is quite agile in the way it reacts to steering and does not spin out even with rapid movements at full throttle,” stated test driver Markus Lundh, who was a vital part of Jesko's development and finetuning.

As a note, Jesko is powered by a Koenigsegg-developed mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine. When using E85 fuel, it delivers 1,578 hp (1,177 kW / 1,600 PS) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque, and when using ordinary gas, it provides 1,262 hp (941 kW / 1,280 PS).

Koenigsegg's unique Light Speed Transmission (LST), which is claimed to be the best in the world, sends power to the rear axle. The triplex damper front spring, active aerodynamics, and sticky Michelin tires all contribute to excellent handling. Even though it has yet to be tested, the Jesko is projected to outperform its predecessor.

Jesko may be unique in terms of specs, but according to this video, Koenigsegg constructed a few additional Jesko prototypes following the original exhibition car.
