Wine-Inspired Maserati GranCabrio Folgore To Be Auctioned At Napa Valley Gala

Maserati recently unveiled a brand-new, entirely electric GranCabrio Folgore that draws inspiration from the wine industry. Moreover, a charity auction in California is about to take place for the Tignanello one-of-a-kind, which is named after a red wine.

In partnership with Marchesi Antinori, an Italian winemaking family, Maserati crafted the Fuoriserie-customized EV to commemorate the half-century anniversary of Tignanello wine.

Not only was Tignanello the first red wine from Chianti Classico to avoid using white grapes, but it also holds the distinction of being the first Sangiovese aged in barriques and the first contemporary red wine blended with untraditional grape varieties. Terra di Tignanello, a custom chestnut hue with hints of metallic burgundy and copper, is the finish choice for this particular Maserati.

The Maserati Fuoriserie package also includes a black soft top, copper logos, and black alloy wheels and brake calipers. The GranCabrio's uncovered four-seater saloon has distinctive seat treatments. The burgundy and silver ribbed weave is one of the embellishments on the leather upholstery. The manufacturer crafts the inserts from vine-derived Vegea, a spreadable fabric that feels like leather.

The dark briar wood door inserts and center console trim have lasered writing that draws inspiration from the printing on the oak barrels. Additionally, the bottle features the sun, a symbol of the Tignanello wine, and the headrests also feature the same embroidered emblem. On the middle console, you can see the same design, together with the years 1971–2021, which denote the first and current vintages of the wine.

The conventional GranCabrio Folgore, which has three electric motors, remains unchanged in its foundation. With a total of 818 horsepower and 996 lb-ft of torque, the convertible can go from zero to 62 mph in only 2.8 seconds. With its 92.5 kWh capacity, the battery pack can reportedly drive 233 miles on a single charge, according to the EPA.

There will be an auction for the world's only Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello on July 14 at the Arts for All Gala at California's Festival Napa Valley. The wine-themed special will give 100% of its earnings to charity.
