Why Audi RS6 Avant Orders Are Booming In 2025
by AutoExpert | 12 August, 2025
Most cars start to fade as a replacement gets closer, but not the Audi RS6 Avant. With the new A6 Avant already in showrooms, Audi says its super wagon is actually selling better than ever. In the first half of 2025, RS6 orders hit a record high, helping push overall RS model sales up 41 percent compared to last year.
Why the late-life rush? The competition is in a holding pattern. Mercedes-AMG hasn’t launched its next E63 Estate yet, and BMW’s new M5 Touring is hybrid-only, which has some buyers looking elsewhere for a pure V8. The next RS6 will also go hybrid, so this might be the last chance to grab one in its current form.

Even in today’s SUV-heavy market, the Audi RS6 Avant proves there’s still love for a fast, practical wagon. Audi is sticking with high-performance estates, and prototypes for the next RS6 and RS4 are already testing—both expected to keep plenty of cylinders while adding electric power.

However, it’s not just wagons on the way. This September, Audi Sport will reveal a new concept positioned between the TT and R8, aiming to recapture the excitement of the original TT launch in the late ’90s.
