Why 2022 GMC Terrain Crossover Dropped Its Optional 2.0-Liter Inline-Four Engine?

GMC has updated again its 2022 Terrain compact crossover with new styling and features, a new off-road-oriented AT4 trim level joins the lineup, but there's some bad news also. The optional powerful 2.0-liter inline-four engine won't be available for the crossover, either. After disappearing as an option from the previous 2021 models, the remained 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four delivers up to 170 horsepower.

The new styling refreshment for the 2022 Terrains reshapes the headlights and taillights and offers you a totally different front fascia. As usual, we get new wheel designs and extra color options. The AT4 mentioned above could be seen on previous GMC models, is added to the Terrain lineup for the first time, bringing the appearance package with a front skid plate and Goodyear Sport Terrain tires.

There have been made modifications for the crossover's interior,  with upholstery and trim pieces, turning the Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android features as a standard for each Terrain model. The new head-up display is still optional on certain trim levels, but still a standard on the Top-dog Denali models.

The lineup for the 2022 GMC Terrain crossover is the most expected. Even though it didn't bring back the expected 2.0-liter engine, the price was not announced, but we hope that the rest of the refreshments brought to the Terrains will be worth it. The price might be higher could outcome the 2021's models front-wheel-drive base price of $40,000.
