VW's Lamando L Makes Its Chinese Debut

The Lamando L, a China-only five-door liftback vehicle based on the MQB Evo platform, has been formally introduced by VW. The Lamando L is a variant of the normal Lamando sedan made in China by the VW-SAIC joint venture. This can be seen in its design, which borrows elements from the Arteon (such as the clamshell bonnet, frameless doors, and coupe-style top).
The new model's front, with its powerful Matrix LED headlights and large bumper intake, is a standout feature. The body is more contoured than any other VW model in China's popular lineup. Meanwhile, the rear end has full-width LED taillights, prominent shoulders, beautiful chrome accents on the bumper, and a functional liftgate that opens with the steeply sloped back windshield.
The 10-inch digital instrument cluster and the 12-inch touchscreen for the infotainment are housed in a panel on the inside, whereas the dash appears to be based on the VW Golf. Ambient lighting, a sunroof, a Beats sound system, a heads-up display, and VW's newest shift-by-wire knob for the DSG transmission are among the standard features.
The Lamando L is based on an extended version of the MQB Evo platform, which is already used by VW Group products such as the VW Golf, Audi A3, Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon, and others. The 1.4 TSI four-cylinder engine in the 280TSI model is turbocharged and non-electrified, generating 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 250 Nm (184.4 lb-ft) of torque, which is transmitted to the front axle through a seven-speed DSG transmission.
The VW Lamando will be on sale in China soon, and it may also be exported to other Asian countries.
