Earlier this month, Volvo met with some of its dealers in Miami to present them the company's long-term strategy. By the end of the decade, Volvo plans to have all of its vehicles powered by electric motors. Five new zero-emission vehicles are included in the short-term plan.

Volvo met about 800 dealers from North and South America and informed them that the brand's first new electric vehicle will be available next year. There is no information on which model will be released in 2023, but we assume it will be the purely electric replacement to the current's XC90, which is rumored to be called the Embla.

Volvo's five new electric vehicles will feature a large and small crossover, a sedan, and two dynamic wagon-like variants, according to the first information gained by Automotive News. According to those who participated in the event, Volvo refers to these two wagons as activity vehicles. Furthermore, two new plug-in hybrids, essentially modified variants of the S90 and XC90 PHEVs, will be introduced.

Immediate dealer feedback was said to be highly encouraging. Volvo is nailing the product range, according to one retailer, and Volvo is one of the most fascinating manufacturers, according to another. As part of its effort to move toward a more electric future, the automaker has informed its dealers that it plans to increase production at its Ridgeville factory and hire more workers.

Volvo is reportedly working on an electric version of the XC60 as well as a larger SUV with the internal identifier V546, which will fit between the XC60 and the XC90.
