Volvo goes from sedate to high performance?

This is like Clark Kent changing into his Superman suit! Volvo is going high performance with its Polestar concept.

The Volvo S60 Polestar is a high performance, reaching 100kmph in only 3.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 300kmph.

Robert Dahlgren, Volvo Polestar Racing development driver, comments on the driving experience: "For me, the Volvo S60 is a very well sorted car from start. In our concept car, we have developed a chassis, engine, and transmission just like we want it, and the result is a huge leap forward in terms of handling and performance. It is, by far, the most impressive street Volvo I've ever driven. But the genuine Volvo feeling is still there."

Remains to be seen how popular the car will be, but just maybe there are enough Volvo fans out there with a secret desire to play superman!
