Volkswagen's ID.7 Model Debuts In China

Volkswagen revealed a disguised version of its forthcoming ID.7 electric vehicle at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. While the world premiere of the electric car isn't until April 18 at the Shanghai Auto Show, we now get a look at its production design.

Design elements from the ID.Aero, ID.Vizzion, and ID.Space Vizzion concepts may be seen in the final ID.7. The "ID.7 Vizzion," and not simply "ID.7," is the model name of the Chinese-market automobile.

The actual ID.7 has T-shaped graphics instead of the sharper fascia seen on the ID.Aero concept. Meanwhile, features such as the rear end design with its perforated full-width light bar and the black greenhouse with chrome strip remain faithful to the concept. In addition, the flush door handles also made it into production.

The interior design iof the production-spec ID.7 s a lot more faithful to the original. A chrome strip that spans the interior's width highlights the dashboard, according to the official images.The main display for information and entertainment is located here, as is the instrument cluster. The vehicle has the same layout for the dashboard and steering wheel as the concept.

Volkswagen has announced that there will be an optional dual-motor drivetrain and that the ID.7 will have a range of up to 435 miles. The 77 kWh battery pack will allow the Chinese market version to reach a top speed of 201 horsepower. Its maximum speed is supposedly capped at 96 mph. Nevertheless, Volkswagen has not yet validated any of the estimates. The release date for the North American ID.7 is set for the beginning of 2024.
