Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition To Arrive In North America This Fall

Volkswagen released the Golf R 20 Years edition in May to mark the 20th anniversary of the R32's introduction. The vehicle is making its way to North America, but with some modifications. In the United States, it will be known as the VW Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition and go on sale this fall.

There will be three color options available: Lapiz Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, and Pure White. The Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition will be equipped with 19-inch black gloss Estoril wheels, outfitted with 235/35 performance summer tires. The limited-edition Golf R will be available in the US with a six-speed manual gearbox. 

The front fenders, front and rear bumpers of the Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition all sport blue R logos. One of the unique touches inside the automobile is a blue R emblem on the cap of the steering wheel. The Volkswagen Golf is also the first production VW model to include authentic carbon fiber inside trim components. 

Volkswagen uses its 2.0-liter four-cylinder EA888 motor in the special Golf R. It produces 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, the same as the standard version. The starting price for the Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition will be $44,940. Those who desire an automatic transmission will spend $45,740.
