Volkswagen and Tata Motors' partnership has been confirmed through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two companies. The agreement has been signed by Bernhard Maier, CEO of Skoda, Matthias Müller, CEO of Volkswagen AG and Günther Butschek, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Motors.
Volkswagen Group will be represented by the Czech manufacturer. It will start with the particular market knowledge and local development expertise. VW hopes it will be able to launch its models on some of the developing markets.

According to Matthias Müller, this agreement with Tata Motors is meant to set the foundations and to offer customer-focused mobility solutions, as well as expand the fast-growing automobile markets.

Volkswagen is planning to create a budget brand that will be even more reasonable than Skoda's and SEAT's. Using the new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) of Tata will help the company save money.

At the same time, Tata Motors will be able to use the modern technologies provided by Volkswagen and other brands from VAG's portfolio.

According to Günter Butschek, they are glad to work closely with Volkswagen Group and Skoda. They really hope that, by working together, they will manage to invent new solutions in the world of automobiles.
