Veyron has a rival from Australia!

The Australian automotive industry has a great potential that was demonstrated in particular by the top versions of the Holden brand, the HSV GTS model being a very good example. The latest news, however, makes reference to a completely different league: that of the Bugatti Veyron. Therefore, the eccentric entrepreneur Paul Halstead announced the launch of a hypercar with a W16 engine and at least 1,200 horsepower by 2016.

The given engineering unit is currently a combination of two Corvette LS7 V8 engines. The two engines have an angle of 45 degrees between them, and the power is transmitted through a "trick transfer case" solution - the conjugated power of the two engines reaches the 6-speed gearbox clutch. The traction control system will engage the rear wheels only (Veyron has a four-wheel drive), while the menu will include a limited-slip differential. The chassis will be made of carbon fiber and the body panels of Kevlar and carbon fiber.

If according to the current plans, this project will succeed in becoming a reality and small series production will be started by 2016, we could become the witnesses of a splashy duel between this strange nameless project, currently on paper only, and the Bugatti Veyron successor, which is expected to have 1,500 hp!
