Vanda Dendrobium — Orchids Can Be Not Just Flowers, But Hypercars Too
by AllAutoExperts | 17 April, 2020
The first hypercar of Singapore was presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and it is named Vanda Dendrobium. It has been developed by Singapore electric mobility company Vanda Electrics and its design is pretty unusual, along with propulsion technologies.
The powertrain has been developed by Vanda with Williams Advanced Engineering. It has been stated that the vehicle will use two inboard-mounted electric motors at each axle. These engines will probably be joined by a single-speed transmission and differential at the front. There will also be a multi-speed gearbox and differential at the rear.

The result of this structure will make the top speed reach approximately 200 mph (320 km/h). Dendrobium will reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.7 seconds.

According to the CEO of Vanda Electrics, Larissa Tan, Dendrobium has been the dream of this company since the mid-90s. Thanks to advanced technology, the company has been able to create this halo model through its innovative global e-mobility strategy.

The exterior of Dendrobium features carbon-ceramic brake discs, carbon fiber body panels, double rear diffuser, composite monocoque chassis, an aerodynamic floor, and a front splitter increasing the front end. The highlight of the exterior design is the LED taillight.

Dendrobium is supposed to be produced in 2020.
