V12 And V8 Engines On The Newly Launched Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

Are you ready for the most luxurious version of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class? If not, you’d better get ready, as it is already on sale on several European markets.

Riveling directly with Rolls-Royce, the novelty has an 18 cm (7 inches) longer wheelbase compared to the well-known S-Class LWB, benefiting the rear passenger compartment.

It is bigger and it also is more beautiful. Available in a two-tone manually applied paint finish, the premium limo comes with a new radiator grille, with chrome pinstripes. The bonnet is embellished with a new chromed fin, while the overall appearance gets even more noticeable with new wheels, a fixed quarterlight in the C-pillar, and classical Maybach badges.

But it gets even better. The limo’s back compartment preserves the well-known Maybach comfort, bringing into the new S580 and S680 the Active Blind Spot Assist, integrated with electrically operated rear doors. The front-seat backrest keeps the specific model and is finished in high-quality wood trimming.

Many other details are contributing to the interior comfort, like adaptive rear lighting, active noise cancellation, and even a premier - calf massage function for the passengers in the back. You may choose the optional 10-liter fridge, which is detachable, and the silver-plated champagne flutes.

And like that wasn’t impressive enough, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comes with different rear wheel arches, hosting an additional cavity for the extra-sound deadening material. The glass is thicker laminated, the tires are noise-optimized, and the noise-cancellation system keeps the outside world away.

European clients will get the first deliveries in the second half of this year. They’ll have to choose between the two versions of the new Maybach S-Class: the 4-liter V8-powered S580 4Matic with 496 hp and the 6-liter V12-powered S680 4Matic, reaching 603 hp. The latter is actually a novelty itself, being the first time when an S-Class gets paired with a V12.
