The 2025 Santa Cruz is a little more rugged than its predecessor, according to the latest news from the New York International Auto Show. “More vertical lines and redesigned headlamps bookend a menacing new grille incorporating larger chambers,” said Brad Arnold, senior design manager at Hyundai North America.

To begin with, some of the changes include larger grille slats, a more vertical arrangement of lighting components, and, of course, a piece of trim that resembles underbody protection.

A set of unique front and rear bumpers, a blacked-out grille designed to fit XRT tow hooks, and wrench-inspired 18-inch wheels accent this variant even more. The vehicle's 245/60R 18 all-terrain tires, improved approach angles, and other features make off-roading a breeze.

Interior features of the XRT model include blind-spot and surround-view monitors, as well as debossed logos on the top backs of the front seats. On the other hand, the whole range will soon get inside upgrades. The Santa Cruz now has Hyundai's optional curved panoramic display, which is a nice touch. The front-mounted 12.3-inch instrument panel and the center-mounted 12.3-inch infotainment screen make up the unit.

Hyundai has kept the button layout and included actual switchgear for the most often used audio and HVAC settings. It seems like air vents go all the way from door to door on the large and slim dashboard. Hyundai upgraded the steering wheel to provide greater handling and also included a central armrest with two cupholders for the back seat occupants.

Along with Hyundai's in-car payment system, the new 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz includes Bluelink+ connected vehicle technology, a fingerprint reader, and a Digital Key 2.

Under the hood, everything remains unchanged. On the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz, you may choose between a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque or a 2.5-liter turbo that boosts power to 281 horsepower and torque to 311 lb-ft. Along with them is a fine-tuned eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

A multidisc hydraulic torque converter enhances response time, while a reduced oil pump minimizes frictional losses. You get all-wheel drive as standard on the 2.5-liter turbo, and the naturally-aspirated engine can pull up to 3,500 lbs.

The new Santa Cruz colors for 2025 are Canyon Red and Rockwood Green. As for the inside, owners will have seats available in a medium gray color. We do not yet know the prices for the upgraded vehicle. We anticipate the vehicle's arrival in U.S. dealerships to commence this summer.
