Unveiling Shane: The Futuristic Two-Wheeled Electric Marvel

For those enchanted by grand wheels, the Shane concept is likely to make your favorites list – a new entrant in the electric vehicle panorama. However, it's not the grandeur of the wheels that steals the show, but the fact that there are only two of them.

Conceptualized by Shane Chen, this two-wheeled, five-seater electric vehicle evokes memories of a colossal Hoverboard. This isn't too surprising, given Chen's past invention of the Hoverboard.

Shane

Drawing inspiration from the Hoverboard's knack for balancing riders through smart sensors and motors, Shane sought to evolve a vehicle that mirrors this equilibrium. The endeavor called for the incorporation of a series of captivating technologies.

Shane

Hoverboard enthusiasts are accustomed to the mechanism of accelerating or decelerating by leaning forward or backward. However, this method of weight adjustment isn't viable for a five-seater; hence, Shane's concept ingeniously allows the entire passenger body to shift forward or backward to moderate the sensation of speed alterations.

Shane

The design permits the body to move almost independently from the wheels, adeptly absorbing bumps with minimal cabin disturbance.

Shane

What sets the Shane concept apart initially is the absence of any steering linkage. It navigates by varying the power and speed between the wheels. Moreover, its design enables Shane to rotate in place, simplifying the often dreaded task of parallel parking.

Shane

A fun fact to nibble on – the Shane concept isn't the maiden two-wheeled car. Rewind to 1967, and you'll find the Gyro-X making its debut with one wheel at the front and one at the rear. As the name suggests, a gyro was employed to balance the car. The Gyro-X still operates today, residing at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, TN, a testimony to the timeless allure of two-wheeled innovations.
