Jeep is testing two Wrangler 4xe SUVs with technological advances that provide drivers with more details about the road. The two Jeep Wranglers will be used to try out new "vehicle-to-everything" (V2X) technologies for Stellantis. The first Jeep Wrangler will use existing intersection cameras to notify vehicles and drivers of potential dangers before they are actually seen.

The second Jeep Wrangler will warn drivers whenever an emergency vehicle or other roadblock is detected. Similarly,  Audi has been working on innovations that notify drivers regarding traffic signals and even school zones.

Stellanti's technology uses Multi-access Edge Computing and Safety Clouds. Stellantis can collaborate with telecommunications companies like Verizon, Telus, Harman, Altran, and American Tower through the 5G Automotive Association.

Huge avenues have opened up for Stellantis, with safety mechanisms being one of many sectors we focus on, according to Mamatha Chamarthi, Head of Software Business and Product Management. “We will leverage next-generation systems and test the technology through smart partnerships.” Stellantis anticipates the technology to be widely available within a decade.
