Toyota's latest electric model, the bZ3X, is making a big splash in the SUV world. Developed in collaboration with their GAC joint venture, the bZ3X aims to provide robust features at an affordable price. With a starting price of just 100,000 yuan (around $13,800), it’s easily one of the most affordable EVs out there. If you’re looking for a more loaded version, it’ll top out at 200,000 yuan ($27,500).

The 430 Air+ model, which is the entry-level, comes with a 50 kWh battery. Toyota says it’ll give you about 430 km (267 miles) on a full charge, based on the Chinese testing cycle. It's got 221 hp (165 kW) from a single motor, so it's not breaking any speed records.

If you want more range, Toyota's also offering two other variants: the 520 Pro+ and the 620 Max, which will likely have larger batteries and, judging by the names, around 520 km (323 miles) and 620 km (385 miles) of range.

Size-wise, the Toyota bZ3X is a typical compact SUV. It’s about 4,600 mm (181.1 inches) long, 1,875 mm (73.8 inches) wide, and 1,645 mm (64.7 inches) tall. The wheelbase is 2,765 mm (108.8 inches), and it weighs 1,835 kg (4,045 lbs).

Inside, you’re getting a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch digital dash, plus a cool two-spoke steering wheel. There’s also a wireless phone charger and a split center console, and it comes with an 11-speaker Yamaha sound system to round it off.

Toyota has incorporated a wealth of technology for safety, including 11 high-def cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and radar systems to power all the driver-assistance features.
