Toyota Tundra Race Truck Has Been Unveiled

As it intends to take on Detroit's best, Toyota Tundra has just introduced two twin-turbo V6 engine options. In many ways, the Tundra is now more like a conventional car than it has ever been before, and that's a positive development.

However, before we can put the new Toyota Tundra through its tests, there's already an even better version that none of us will ever get an opportunity to test drive because it's already been revealed. Toyota will run the Tundra TRD Pro for the first time in the 2022 Nascar Camping World Truck Series with this model.

It is Toyota's third distinct body style campaign in Nascar's top three series, following in the footsteps of the previous two. It will compete in the Xfinity Series alongside the Toyota Camry TRD Next Gen Cup vehicle and the Toyota Supra. In 2022, Toyota will be hoping to solidify its position in the Camping World Truck Competition as the carmaker approaches a two-decade involvement in the series.

During the time since it was first introduced in 2004, Toyota has won 8 championships for drivers and 11 titles for the company. Ben Rhodes won the previous Tundra for the 200th time earlier this season, putting Toyota closer to a 12th manufacturers' title - something that seems likely given that 60% of the 10 drivers who qualified for this season's Truck Series Playoffs drive Tundras full-time.
