Toyota Recalls 102,000 Lexus LX And Tundra Trucks Over Engine Failure Risk

Minute pieces of debris can cause engine failure in just over 102,000 Toyota vehicles. Specifically, the recall affects Tundras and Lexus LXs manufactured in 2022 and 2023. Twin-turbocharged V6 engines power the impacted automobiles. Tundras and LX hybrids are not included.

There is a chance that the engines of the recalled vehicles contain manufacturing process debris. Toyota suggests that the manufacturer may not have completely cleaned the engine of machining residue during manufacturing.

If that junk is still in there, it can ruin the engine's major bearings. If this happens, it indicates that the vehicle is stalling and will need an expensive repair. Toyota has admitted to being uncertain about the precise number of cars affected by the problem.

Toyota opted for one percent as their estimate, as is required of all auto manufacturers. Additionally, it states that "1" denotes "unknown" for the purposes of this report. The manufacturer has announced a recall that includes a stop-sale for three Lexus LX models and eighty Tundras.

According to the paperwork, 3,500 LXs and 98,600 Tundras are among the impacted cars. Toyota reports that Puerto Rico sold around 950 recalled cars.
