Toyota Harrier Plug-In Hybrid Is Now Available In Japan

Toyota has now shown a new plug-in hybrid Harrier for the Japanese market, and the whole Harrier line has received several improvements. Toyota Harrier PHEV is propelled by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 130 kW (174 hp) and 161 lb-ft of torque when used independently.

An electric motor producing 134 kW (180 hp) and 199 lb-ft of torque is located at the front axle, while another producing 40 kW (54 hp) and 89 lb-ft of torque is located at the back, for a total of 302 horsepower (225 kW). The plug-in hybrid can go for up to 58 miles on electric power and has a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 18.1 kilowatt-hours.

The plug-in hybrid version of the Harrier has a few cosmetic differences. For instance, there is a distinctive front grille that comes in four different hues, including a unique metallic grey. Metal mesh, utilized for the instrument panel and door trim, together with dark red piping, makes for a striking interior.

Heated rear seats and a panoramic view monitor are among the new Harrier's most notable standard features. Additionally, all Toyota Harrier versions come standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, in-car WiFi, as well as the Toyota Safety Sense suite.

As of October 4, the revised petrol and hybrid versions will be on sale, and as of October 31, the new Toyota Harrier plug-in hybrid will be introduced. While official prices have not been announced, reports suggest that they will cost anywhere between ¥3,128,000 and ¥6,200,000 ($21,620 and $42,850).
