Toyota GRMN Supra To Get 530-HP BMW M Motor

According to a report on Spyder7, Toyota plans to use a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder motor from BMW's M Competition vehicles in the 2023 range-topping GRMN Supra. The claim rekindles long-dormant curiosity about the vehicle.

The designation of Gazoo Racing Meister of Nurburgring (GRMN) is given to Toyota's most exciting vehicles, like the GRMN Yaris, which was presented in Japan earlier this year.  Adding a BMW powerplant would give the Supra a significant boost in both power and performance if the rumors are real.

Supra

According to Spyder7, the GRMN Supra will have an upgraded version of the M4 Competition's motor that produces 530 horsepower. In its present incarnation, the engine generates 479 pound-feet of torque, but no details were given of the GRMN Supra's predicted stats.

Toyota is said to be considering an all-wheel-drive Supra, despite the Supra's current front-engine, rear-drive configuration. Because M Competition cars are only available with all-wheel drive, this isn't a fantasy. To minimize weight, the GRMN Supra is believed to include massive hood scoops and carbon bodywork. A muscular front fascia and a huge rear wing are seen in the illustration.

Supra

The automobile seems to be lower and broader than the basic model, but no additional external style information is available at this time. As a reminder, the 2022 Supra 3.0 produces 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, which equates to a 0-62 mph speed of fewer than 3 seconds.

The GRMN Supra is set to debut in early 2023, with a price that resembles that of a BMW rather than a Toyota. The car's speculated starting price is 10 million yen ($80,695), and that's before dealers. In addition, the source indicates that Toyota will create a restricted amount of automobiles.
