2026 Toyota Alphard And Vellfire Focus On Comfort And Electrification
by AutoExpert | 4 June, 2026
Toyota has given the Alphard and Vellfire a few fresh updates in Japan. Most of the changes focus on the hybrid lineup and making the big luxury vans even more comfortable to ride in.
The styling stays almost exactly the same, aside from the addition of a Neutral Black exterior color.

Inside, buyers now get the Bronze Sputtering trim across the whole lineup instead of only on the expensive Executive Lounge versions. The Alphard also gains upgraded 18-inch wheels with a Hyperchrome Metallic finish, while frequency-sensitive shock absorbers are now standard on every version to improve ride comfort.

The bigger news is the arrival of a new Alphard PHEV Z grade. Until now, Toyota kept the plug-in hybrid setup exclusive to the flagship Executive Lounge trim, but it’s now available in a slightly more accessible version. The Z still comes loaded with equipment, including 19-inch wheels, a dual moonroof, Ultrasuede headliner, wood trim, a 14-inch infotainment display, wireless charging, and heated and ventilated second-row seats.

Toyota also expanded the regular hybrid lineup with a new HEV G trim. Even this version gets plenty of kit, including LED headlights, heated front seats, captain’s chairs in the second row, and the large infotainment system with a panoramic camera setup.

Under the hood, things stay familiar. Buyers can still choose between gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with the PHEV models continuing to use Toyota’s E-Four AWD system. Pricing for the Alphard starts at ¥4,970,000 ($31,100) and stretches all the way to ¥14,850,000 ($92,900) for the top Spacious Lounge version.

The Vellfire lineup sits between ¥6,749,600 and ¥10,899,900 ($42,300-$68,300).
